Artist's Comments

This was my Final for Drawing I. The project involved blowing up a picture of ourselves in some sort of alter-ego, in my case, I drew from various interests of mine.
I've got Tahu's Firesword from Bionicle, a toy Lightsaber, a few Figment based things, a Crystal from Atlantis the Lost Empire, Pirates of the Caribbean pocketwatch, Kamina shades taped over my glasses, Momo on my shoulder and the background is Planet K from the 20X6 shorts on Homestar.

Used a lot of charcoal on this thing...
Head's a little wide, but otherwise it's pretty good I think...

Yeah.
I am scared that if I were to draw myself exactly, like I did with the Regina Spektor picture, I would make myself out to be plainer then I am...XD

I've actually tried drawing myself and became embarassed that I could not draw someone I see everyday...I might try again down the road, later on.

I take a photo of myself, print it, and outline with a pen, then I study all of my outline and then I draw.

That's what we did, though tracing the photo onto a transparency with a Sharpee and gridding that as well.
